As a Union, we have the ability to bargain for greater job security, wages, and benefits. Benefits are a form of additional assistance negotiated by your union and provided by the employer above and beyond wages and job security and often take the form of support for various kinds of healthcare needed by employees.
At CUPE 3906, all three of our Units have negotiated their own benefits packages, all of which include dental plans (Units 1, 2, and 3), a mental health and wellness assistance program/EFAP (Units 1, 2, and 3), health care spending accounts (Units 1, 2, and 3), gender affirmation fund (Unit 1 and 3), reproductive health fund (Unit 3), UHIP rebates for international members (Unit 1), and a comprehensive health benefits plan (Unit 3).
Although not a health/dental benefit, Unit 2 and 3 members also have access to a professional development fund.
