Unit 2 includes individuals employed as:

  • Sessional Faculty,
  • MELD Faculty, and
  • Hourly Rated Sessional Music Faculty

Sessionals are provided with a number of benefits under the your Collective Agreement including a Health Care Spending Account Dental Insurance and access to a Professional Development Fund.

Sessional Faculty who hold seniority in CUPE 3906, Unit 2, have access to PAID training through the MacPherson Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Excellence in Teaching. Click here for more information on training access for Sessional Faculty.

Sessional Faculty also have the right to request additional TA support for their course. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us.

Sessional Faculty work 238 hours per 3.0 credit as a result of  the Employment Insurance Memorandum of SettlementThis document outlines the number of hours reported on your Record of Employment for EI eligibility purposes. It also outlines the process for applying to have the number of reported hours amended. Please note that requests for hour amendments (especially if you’re teaching the course for the first time, have limited TA support, etc…) must be submitted within 30 days of the of the last class (this provision was bargained into 8.05 (b) of the new collective agreement).
